I samband med att UFC meddelade att man väljer att sparka Thiago Silva från organisationen meddelade de även att Anthony ”Rumble” Johnson kommer att stängas av på obestämd tid på grund av ett 2-år gammalt fall av hustrumisshandel.
We are aware of the situation involving Anthony Johnson. As a result, we are suspending him indefinitely. We are using a third-party law firm to conduct a formal investigation and once we have more information, we’ll determine whether further course of action is necessary.
Den amerikanska hemsidan Bloodyelbow.com skrev under fredagen att Rumnbles förre detta flickvän, som även är mamma till Rumbles två barn, ska ha blivit misshandlad av Rumble 2012. Rumble ska enligt ex-flickvännen ha slagit henne i ansiktet och slagit ut två av hennes tänder, men hon polisanmälde aldrig misshandeln.
Det var i samband med att ex-flickvännen fick ett flertal hotsamtal från personer som sade sig vara vänner till Rumble som hon valde att gå till polisen tidigare i år.

On 09/05/14 I met with the complainant, X, at the DBPD in reference to a domestic dispute. X advised that she is frightened by the father of their children, Anthony Johnson.
X stated that two years ago Johnson hit her in the face and knocked out two of her teeth. Since that incident she has had several other verbal altercations with Johnson. X has only reported one of the incidents to the police.
Most recently, Johnson went to X house and tok their dog on 08/24/14. X also advised that she keeps receiving calls and text messages from an unknown male subject threatening her. X stated that it’s not Johnson but thinks it’s his friends.
I advised X to go to the Courthouse and obtain a no contact order against Johnson.
I provided X with a domestic violence brochure.
Rumble var inte glad över de tråkiga nyheterna och skrev på sitt Facebook-konto att anklagelserna mot honom är falska.

Den 30-årige amerikanen har vunnit 8 raka matcher, varav de två senaste har varit i hans andra sejour i UFC. Rumble var tänkt att bli svenske Alexander Gustafssons nästa motståndare, men detta kan leda till att UFC får leta efter en ny potentiell motståndare till Arbogasonen.
