Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) har beslutat att ytterligare försäkra sig om att det kommer vara rent spel i den kommande matchen mellan Demetrious Johnson och Chris Cariaso, då man valt att göra ny dopningstester.
I början av september lät man testa de två med både urin och blodprover.
Det här berättar Cariaso, via ”MMAJunkie”:
They showed up at my door and said, ‘Alright, we’re here. I had just got back from my run. I think it’s pretty cool that they’re doing such a great job of trying to clean up this sport. Ali Bagautinov, the last challenger (to Johnson’s title), got caught blood doping and stuff. So I think it’s good to test.
NSAC har infört striktare regler efter att TRT blev förbjudet i februari och utför nu tester mer frekvent.
Cariaso är positiv till det hela och ser gärna att man fortsätter med fler tester:
It’s definitely a good thing for the sport. There’s a lot of talk out there about people on PEDs and stuff like that. I definitely think you don’t need it for this sport. You’ve just got to go out there and train hard, and you’ll get the results you need.
Johnson och Cariaso kommer att möta varandra under huvudmatchen för UFC 178, som kommer att hållas i MGM Grand Garden Arena i Las Vegas den 27 september.
