It was difficult to get that feeling I always had.  I was really … prepared for my last fight, but I was gone two-and-a-half years, and just look at Jon Jones. I don’t want to compare myself to everyone else. He is a great athlete, and we are not on the same level, but still. It takes a lot of energy and a lot of focus out of you. Now I am back on the track and feel really good, had a great camp.

They think it’s so easy to just go in and knock out your opponent and go home. It’s not that easy because all of us are the highest (level) athletes you can find on the planet. We train hard, we do. It’s just difficult to go in and dominate somebody else who does exactly the same work, maybe harder than you. We do our best and see what’s happening.

This is not a (Brazilian jiu-jitsu) tournament; this is UFC, and we don’t have a gi. We punch each other in the face. As the legendary Joe Rogan said, ‘After one punch, you’re not more black belt.’

Believe me I am hungry every day to be the best for victory – to just get there and show what I’m prepared to do, what I train for. Believe me I am more hungry than ever.
