Dana White är inte direkt entusiastisk över Oscar De La Hoya deltagande på The Sphere i Las Vegas.
UFC över Boxning
De La Hoya publicerade nyligen en Instagram-video där han fortsätter sin rivalitet mot Canelo Alvarez. De La Hoya meddelar samtidigt att han ska gå på UFC 306 i Las-Vegas, samma kväll som matchen mellan Berlanga och Alvarez på T-Mobile Arena tio minuter bort.
Långvarig fejd
De La Hoya som har haft en långvarig fejd med Alvarez, kallade mästarens match mot Berlanga för en:
“snooze fest”
och tillade
“It’s just robbery at this point.”
Han meddelade även att han väljer UFC över boxning denna helg.
“I’ll actually be attending at the UFC event at the Sphere instead,”

“Now, I love the sport of boxing more than anything. I will be watching boxing matches anywhere and anytime. Even if it’s a simple sparring session or two bums fighting in the street.
“So the idea I’m choosing to attend the UFC and support Dana White instead of Canelo tells you everything you need to know.”
Tveksam vänskap mellan Oscar De La Hoya och Dana White
De La Hoya och White har knappast varit de bästa vännerna genom åren, med många offentliga konflikter. Så sent som 2022 sa White att han tvivlade på att han och De La Hoya någonsin kan bli vänner igen.
I en intervju med Grind City Media fick White frågan om han visste att De La Hoya skulle närvara vid UFC 306. Han svarade att han sett om klippet, men att hans team, så vitt han vet, inte gör några speciella förberedelser för boxningslegendens ankomst.
”I don’t know where he’s getting his tickets from, but he definitely isn’t getting them from me,”
Dana White sa.
“I don’t know if he’s coming with [Turki Alalshikh] or what his deal is, but yeah, I saw it.
“It’s him trying to shit on Canelo, and I said it a million times, I respect Canelo. I like Canelo. Met him, he’s a nice guy. I’m saying that that night, we’re talking about the history of Mexico and the history of the people and their traditions and the impact that they’ve had on combat sports. Somebody said to me, ‘So you’ll be celebrating Canelo that night?’ Yes, we are. Canelo is a big part, he’s a big part of the night. Julio Cesar Chavez, Salvador Sanchez, how are you going to do all the baddest dudes that have ever come out of Mexico and not talk about Canelo too?”
