UFC-fjäderviktaren Chas Skelly har efter en överklagan fått sin förlust mot Bobby Mofett i november 2018 omvänd till en no-contest. Vad som först klassades som en TKO-förlust via D’arce-stryp för Skelly, blir nu en etta i hans no-contest kolumn.
Kampsportskommissionen i delstaten Colorado CCSC (Colorado Office of Combative Sport) har två år efter UFC-matchen mellan Chas Skelly (18-3, 1 NC) och Bobby Moffett (13-5, 1 NC) omvänt en seger för den senare till en no-contest. Det här efter att Skelly överklagat beslutet som landade honom en fjärde förlust i karriären. Ett långt utläggande från ordförande för CCSC Tony Cummings förklarar att de funnit de bevis som Skelly skickat in tillräckligt för att förklara matchen som NC.

In reviewing the boutvideo in it’s entirety, as well as the video submitted by you, I have concluded that the mechanics of the referee helped in creating and untimelystoppage of the fight, which resulted in an incorrectdecision being rendered in this bout.
While I find no malice in the referee’s actions in this situation, it is my opinion that the view of the fight ending sequence showed that a proper defense was being employed and that as such, the sequence should have been allowed to play itself out. There was no indication that the submission attempt resulted in you verbally submitting or being rendered unconscious
Because there was no indication of a verbal or physical submission, nor any indication you were rendered unconscious, and that the referee’s mechanics contributed to the untimely stoppage of the bout, this bout will be overturned to a ‘no contest.’ The results of this appeal will be sent to the appropriate record keeping data bases for recording.
Ursprungligen klev domare Tim Mills in och avslutade matchen halvvägs in i andra ronden, när Skelly befann sig i ett grepp från Moffett, ett så kallad D’arce-stryp. Trots att det var anledningen till stoppet, förklarades Moffett segrare via TKO. Skelly, som fram tills Mills klev in försvarade sig, reste sig upp och började genast klaga över beslutet.

Nu har UFC-veteranen Skelly dock fått upprättelse. Det tillhör inte vanligheten att diverse kampsportskommissioner världen över ändrar på beslut, men den här gången tycks de ha fått det rätt. Om något är det svårt att finna en teknisk knockout i Moffetts grepp om nacken på Skelly.
