Francis Ngannou tog i helgen hem ännu en imponerande knockoutseger, denna gång mot den tidigare UFC-mästaren i tungvikt Junior dos Santos. Något som dock inte har imponerat tungviktsmästaren Daniel Cormier så pass mycket att det fått honom att ändra uppfattning om den kraftfulle fightern.
Ngannou blev i sin enda titelmatch dominerad av Stipe Miocic soom Cormier sedan knockade i den efterföljande matchen.
I veckans mediaevent som UFC anordnade inför nattens UFC 239 uttalade sig Cormier till TSN som ni kan se i klippet nedan:

I think he is a great guy. I like Francis, he is very respectful. But, I think everybody now is… I think everybody now has to take a step back. Because nothings changed. This is the same thing that we saw prior to his title fight. Just remember that.
You guys have to slow down. You get excited and fall in love with these knockouts. But nothing has changed. He did that to Overeem to earn a title fight. He knocked out all those guys prior. Nothing has changed. As much as I respect him, it is not a fight I would have much hesitation in taking.
Cormier förväntas återvända till oktagonen för en rematch mot Stipe Miocic vid UFC 241 i augusti. Detta kan bli hans mästarens sita match i karriären.
