Frank Mir gav sin syn i en intervju om vad som är fel med UFCs lönesystem. Den tidigare tungviktsmästaren i UFC, Mir, vill se förändring gällande UFCs lönesystem. Mir menade att UFC måste sprida sin lön mer brett för att stabilisera organisationen. Ett tydligt exempel som tas upp i intervjun är Anthony Johnsons avsked till sporten samt den alltid verbala Al Iaquinta som vid sidan av sin MMA-karriär jobbar som mäklare. Mir sade följande om situationen.
Fighting itself is extremely brutal, its hard. it’s not really a comfortable man’s sport. It hurts, its humiliating. There’s probably nothing that attacks your ego more than fighting. So, The problem is that the UFC is making people famous and notoriety ont the same level as a Lebron James or a Derrick Jeter-type. The problem is that we are not getting paid like that. The UFC have the money, they’re not sharing the percentage of what they make. They will have to follow a model like football that pays a larger percentage of what they make. Only 8% make it back to the fighters. The money is there, they only need to spread it out more.
