För några dagar sedan gick den forne WSOF-mästaren Justin Gaethje ut med hård kritik mot den irländske UFC-stjärnan Conor McGregor, där han skällde ut honom för sitt beteende och menar att han är en dålig förebild och förälder.
Inför sin kommande match mot Donald Cerrone i Vancouver i helgen, intervjuades Gaethje om sitt tidigare uttalande i samband med de öppna träningarna.
Gaethje berättade att han gärna möter McGregor om möjligheten dyker upp med en vinst mot Cerrone. Han skulle även kunna tänka sig en match mot mästaren Khabib Nurmagomedov eller Tony Ferguson.

I intervjun berättar Gaethje att han var nära på att dra sig ur matchen mot Cerrone på grund av en ögoninfektion.
Han frågades sedan om sina kommentarer mot irländaren McGregor, där han stod fast vid det han tidigare sagt.
I will never stray from the truth. That’s the truth. There’s nothing else to it. It had nothing to do with fighting, nothing to do with wanting to get a fight. He wants to write some bulls**t? Facts are facts! You cannot represent yourself in the public eye like that and expect your child to respect what you do. You are an influence. You are a hero to your children and you are a fool if you don’t think they are going to follow in your footsteps.
McGregor berättade nyligen i en intervju att han skulle ha gått match mot Gaethje i Madison Square Garden i juli. Detta blev inte av, vilket McGregor menade berodde på att han skadat sin hand under träningen.
Gaethje kände dock inte till att de skulle ha matchats mot varandra men är öppen för detta.

I wanted to be a social worker and to see him treat people like that, to see him… even before he took someone’s phone and smashed it on the ground, to see him walking around with his chest in the air, you do not represent yourself like that. I will never respect you!
