Mark Hunt (13-4)stämde UFC och förlorade första vändan rätten, nu tvingas den fördetta UFC-fightern betala över 357 000 dollar i rättegångskostnader till UFC.
Mark Hunt har inte helt förlorat fallet mot UFC
Mark Hunt stämde UFC efter matchen mot Brock Lesnar (5-3) på UFC 200. Anledningen till stämningen var att han anser att UFC visste att de ställde honom i buren mot en fighter som tagit steroider. Det såg mörkt ut för Hunt då rätten lade ned fallet 2019. Men 2021 så valde dock rätten att öppna upp fallet igen, då under ”Fraud and battery”. Trots detta ser det dock ut som Hunt måste betala rättegångskostnader på över 357 000 dollar.
Så här sa rätten:
“In the recent case (Hunt v. Zuffa) the UFC prevailed on several motions to dismiss and a motion for summary judgment. The UFC sought to recover legal fees from Hunt under a clause in his contract with the promotion that has potentially crushing consequences to a fighter who unsuccessfully sues the promotion. The contract notes that a ‘prevailing party’ may recover ‘its attorneys’ fees and costs’ if required to litigate disputes “arising from or related to this Agreement.”
“IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that defendant UFC’s renewed motion for attorneys’ fees and costs [ECF No. 193] is GRANTED. Defendants are awarded $301,792.50 in attorneys’ fees and $86,442.72 in costs, for a total of $388,235.22, and the Clerk of Court is directed to ENTER JUDGMENT accordingly.”
Mark Hunt: ”I am a gambling man”
Mark Hunt har get sitt eget uttalande på instagram där han i stort säger att han inte kommer ge sig. Videon är dock borttagen i nuläget, men detta var vad Hunt sa.
