Den kontroversiella fightern hoppade in på kort varsel för att ersätta Ian Garry på den gångna helgens UFC Tampa. Joaquin Buckley stod för motståndet.
Matchen blev stoppad i rond 3 efter att läkaren kallats till buren för att kolla på det jack som öppnats upp vid ögonbrynet på Colby. Trots detta antiklimax var det en mycket ensidig match där Buckley visade på fortsatt fin form.
Det officiella resultatet utökade 36-åringens förlustsvit till två raka. I fjol förlorade han nämligen mot Leon Edwards när titeln stod på spel.

Att Colby samlat på sig många fiender är ingen hemlighet. Fightern har gjort sig känd som stark anhängare till Donald Trump. Addera en förkärlek till trashtalk och du får en debatterad närvaro i MMA-världen.
En som gladdes att se ”Chaos” förlora var welterviktens regerande mästare, Belal Muhammad. Under en intervju på MMA Today förklarade Belal att han önskat se matchen fortgå endast av anledningen att se Colby ta mer stryk, detta då det skulle eliminera möjligheten för ursäkter.

Muhammad tror inte att Colby håller för topp 10 längre. Han menar att sporten utvecklats förbi honom.
I think now that one person realizes, wait, this kid really does suck, he doesn’t belong in the top five in the UFC. I don’t think he’ll beat anybody in the top 10 in the UFC. Now he’s realized the game has passed him by, and he needs to figure out what’s next. Maybe he’ll have one big fight against somebody, maybe, but there’s not a lot left for him.
