Max Holloway (19-3) är för närvarande inplanerad att möta Frankie Edgar (21-5-1) om fjäderviktstiteln i huvudmatchen på UFC 222, men det stoppar inte honom från att spekulera om framtiden. I en intervju med TMZ Sports så uttalar sig Holloway om hur han ser på en potentiell framtida match mot ingen mindre än Khabib Nurmagomedov (25-0).
I think Khabib is a beast you know, and that’s the kind of guys you want to fight to cement your legacy. He’s over here making all the greats all the top guys look average. And I want to fight him, people keep telling me, he’s gonna smash you this and that, you know I heard this before. I have nothing but respect for the guy but then at the end of the day if you wanna be the best you got to beat the best and he’s considered to be one of the best, if we get matched up, we get matched up. 145, 155 it doesn’t matter to me, I’m a fighter, I’ll fight you, you know. And him saying he’ll fight for free and stuff, cool for him, nah but me I’m trying to make a living, I’ve got a son and college is expensive here in the states and I have to make sure he’s ok. I don’t want my son to be – if my son want to be a fighter that’s cool you know, but I want him to be a doctor. He has to take care of my ass after all these wars I go through you know so we see what happens.
