Den forne UFC-mästaren i bantamvikt Aljamain Sterling skulle älska att möta fjäderviktsstjärnan Max Holloway.
Aljamain Sterling vill möta Max Holloway
Aljamain Sterling har inte fightats sedan han besegrades av den nye mästaren Sean O’Malley i augusti. Trots att han klivit in i matchen som en stor favorit blev han grundligt besegrad via knockout i andra ronden. Trots att Sterling utmanat O’Malley till en omedelbar rematch så vill denne istället möta Marlon Vera i en rematch.
Efter förlusten talades det om att Sterling skulle flytta uppåt och om han gör detta skulle han älska att möta Max Holloway. Den forne fjäderviktsdominanten kommer senast från en knockoutseger mot The Korean Zombie tidigare detta år. I nuläget har hawaiianen inte sin nästa match bokad.
Sterling noterade att experten tillika legendaren Daniel Cormier sagt att han inte vore intresserad av att se matchen mot Holloway. Sterling vill nu motbevisa Cormier och matchningens validitet. Sterling sade följande via sin Youtube-kanal:
[Cormier] was saying that he likes me, but he doesn’t think I should fight Max Holloway. That kind of just makes me want to go up right out of the gate and just call him out and say, ‘I wanna show you guys what’s up.’ I know he said that if I struggled with O’Malley’s height and size, but I’m like, did I actually struggle? I made one mistake compared to the first round, where mostly I was pretty disciplined
To say I would struggle, that kinda gets me going. That kinda gets me wanting to be like, ‘Okay, I’ll show you guys what’s up.’ I don’t think people really understand big-body Aljo, what he can do compared to scrawny but shredded Aljo. It’s just different manpower… Max is the man, bro. Max is the ******* man. I go out and I beat the man, bro, come on. And I think it erases my mistake—not completely.
