Kort efter att Jon Jones besegrat svenske Alexander Gustafsson vid helgens titelmatch i lätt-tungvikt så genomförde den nykrönte mästaren en intervju med TV-programmet UFC Tonight – där den tidigare UFC-mästaren i mellanvikt Michael Bisping även medverkade.
Tydligen valde Bisping att fråga Jon Jones en fråga som denne inte tog med ro utanför den officiella sändningen. Som många skulle gissa handlade denna om de spår av steroiden Turinabol som upptäckts i flera av Jones senaste dopingtester. BJPenn.com rapporterar Bispings ord från podcasten Believe You Me som följande där han berättade om konversationen med Jones:
I don’t care about asking difficult questions and I asked Jon Jones some questions, which apparently he didn’t like because after the fight…we interviewed him again and when we were on commercial break he was talking f*cking shit.
Michael Bisping beskrev Jon Jones svar som följande:
To whoever the powers may be were at FOX, he [said], ‘Is that motherf*cker Michael Bisping going to be asking questions again, with his f*cking dumb sh*t,’ and all this and I was like, ‘Ohhh yeah.’
Bisping tror att den fråga som verkligen störde Jones var vad som händer om Jones misslyckas med post-fight dopingtestet:
Here’s what we never spoke about: he tested positive in August, he tested positive in September and he tested positive in December. Now they’re saying that they are metabolites and they’re saying the presence of Turinabol can stay in his body for a long time. So, if you put that all together, he’s probably going to test positive after fight.
Ansåg att Alexander Gustafsson bör yrka på ”no contest” vid positivt dopingtest
Han ansåg även att Alexander Gustafsson borde kräva att matchen ändras till no contest om man återigen hittar turinabol i Jones blod efter matchen – oavsett mängden:
So, I said, ‘Jon, has there been any discussion as to what happens if you test positive after the fight?’ Because I’ll tell you what, if I’m Alexander Gustafsson and you stopped me in the third round, but the motherf*cker tests positive…and I don’t care how many small pinches of salt it is in an Olympic sized swimming pool…I want that overturned to a f*cking no contest because you’ve tested positive after the fact.
