Den svenske Reza Madadi är inte imponerad över Colby Covingtons ageranden. Igår lade Madadi ut en bild via Instagram, där han säger att Covington inte har visat respekt gentemot det brasilianska befolkningen efter att han besegrade Demian Maia .

Not all PR is good PR! In my opinion it is really sad that such an amazing fighter like @colbycovmma after beating a legend in Demian Maia, instead of being humble like a sportsman after his win starts swearing at the supporters and disrespects a whole country. That is not what the sport of Mixed Martial arts have thought us! I have been in Brazil several times, an amazing country that I would like visit so many times more in my life. I have fought many Brazilians in our sport of MMA. My BJJ coach is Brazilian. Brazil is the home of MMA. Brazilian fans are one of the best in the world, they cheer and support their fellow countrymen and you can really feel the hostile atmosphere walking into the cage when you are going to fight a Brazlian brother. But thats it is during the fight, before the fight or after the fights, in the streets, at the restaurants and when you are walking around the city, the Brazilians give you so much kindness and respect and really welcome you to their beautiful country. The sport of MMA has been taking me to where I am in my life, it has given me friends around the world, it has given me discipline, respect and so much more. In our gym, we have nationalities from all around the world, we have all kind of skin colors, different religions and different backgrounds. All I know is that we train our ass off side to side to each other everyday, we laugh, we sweat and we develop our skills together, like brothers and sisters. It has been a long route to take our sport where it is today. We go thru all hard work to get our reward and that is to step into the cage and fight. In the cage all we want is to knock or submit our opponent, preferably as fast and as hard as possible. BUT, after that, we should be acting like sportsmen, respect and be humble towards our opponents and the fans that have paid entrance and taken their time to come and support us, no matter if you win or you loose. Madadi tävlade senast den 28:e maj, 2017, där han förlorade via ett delat domslut mot Joaquim Silva. Madadi har två raka förluster i UFC.
Covington har fem raka segrar i och med segern över den tidigare titelutmanaren Maia. Covington har uttryckt att han är intresserad av en titelmatch härnäst.
