Den forna UFC-mästarinnan i bantamvikt Ronda Rousey vill påminna alla om att hon är (eller var) en riktigt fighter och att alla kvinnor som hon nu ställs mot i World Wrestling Entertainment bara är skådespelare som hade åkt på däng om de slogs på riktigt.
Det är få som skulle säga emot Rousey angående det senare uttalandet. Det ska dock noteras att Rousey hitintills varit ett lojalt WWE-fan och inte kritiserat organisationens upplägg nämnvärt varken innan eller efter att hon skrev på. Rousey har hittills medverkat 27 gånger.
Nu är dock Rousey trött på att behöva hylla tillställningen och hon skrädde inte på orden när hon uttalade sig som följande via Twitter. Hon kallar nu hela WWE:s upplägg för ”korkat”:
I’m not going out there and doing their fucking act anymore. They can say it’s part of the act to try and save face but it’s not an act. I’m going out there and doing whatever the hell I want and they can explain it however they want, but fuck ‘em. Everybody. WWE Universe included. I meant that I’m going to disrespect the sport that they all love so much. ‘Oh don’t break kayfabe, Ronda!’ Wrestling is scripted. It’s made up. It’s not real. None of those bitches can fucking touch me. The end.
This promo and the entire program is stupid. I don’t care about breaking the fourth wall or any of that other stuff, it just makes no sense to play the rogue badass fighter who won’t play by the rules only to go into the ring and … play by the rules. Even if she wins by submission, it’s not like she’s going to do this.
Win or lose, it’s going to be scripted and choreographed despite all the claims to the contrary. We know that. She knows that. WWE creative knows that. So masking a work as a shoot to manufacture some cheap heat is dumb and makes me wonder why anyone behind the curtain thought this was a good idea. If you’re going to use that whole “MMA fighter is here to legitimize this business” angle, then follow this blueprint.
”The blueprint” som Rousey refererade till var sättet som WWE använt sig av den tidigare UFC-mästaren Brock Lesnar vid dennes återkomst till WWE pr 2012.
Under den senaste tiden har det ryktats om att Rousey kommer att sluta vara med i WWE på heltid då hon kommer att bilda familj med sin man Travis Browne.
