Svenske MMA-tränaren Andreas Michael som tränar fighters som Khamzat Chimaev (11-0) och Alexander Gustafsson (18-7) tar ställning kring UFC:s löneupplägg då han inte kan förstå hur inte båda fighters får full lön oavsett matchens resultat.

Tränaren som håller till på Allstars i Stockholm valde att såga hur UFC väljer att endast ge hela lönen till en fighter som vinner en match. Han valde att skriva ett starkt inlägg via Instagram med bilder på fighters som fått ordentliga skador under matcherna men där många av dessa trots detta endast fått hälften av sin lön efteråt.
Michael resonerar att det inte är empatiskt att straffa dessa fighters som gett allt i matcherna. Han menar även att pengarna inte borde fungera som incitament utan möjligheten att sparkas från UFC borde vara en tillräcklig morot för att ge allt.

In all My years I have never EVER understood the thought behind not getting your full purse if you lose or draw or get injured………. it’s a mystery for me how the People that left it all on the line gave a show gave a WAR a blood guts and grind fight don’t get their full purse.
Is it because you get the incentive to fight harder that you have this type of pay method? Winner gets full purse, loser gets half his purse………… if anything these wars are what makes the event popular. These fighters have expenses, camps, % and costs and a family to provide for. If they lose or draw or get injured why do they get half their purse?
These fighters don’t need incentives to fight hard. It’s in there blood to give a show and to leave everything on the line. It’s in who they are! Once the cage closes they go to WAR money or not. Its in their DNA. Such wars are the back bone of organisations. Why do the stars that have just performed and have gotten their Bodies worn, Torn, grinded and mangled get Paid half? Is not the person the performance that counts? If a fighter don’t deliver he gets cut Anyway 🤷🏻♂️ so What’s the thought behind that?
You want to punish the fighter that has just lost 2-3-4 years of his career in that One fight and give him half his purse because he lost. Sometimes fighters do get their full purse but that’s a favour, nothing else. All fighters Should be getting a flat rate not just some. People Should have empathy. This is just a way to Save money, that’s all. The fear of getting cut Should be enough right? Some of the fighters in the pic do have flat rates and have gotten Paid all their purse in their loss or injury. Thats not the point it Shouldnt be a favour, it Should be implemented.
A guy that goes to fucking WAR gets a draw, both get half their purse? Wtf!? Tell that to their families, their camps, their costs. A person that goes to WAR leaves a liter of blood on the canvas but loses – is he worth half his purse? Really?! He gives us all a show, entertainment, he reduces his career by years and gets punished by not only Losing as if that’s not punishment enough, but he doesn’t get Paid right either.
