I natt möttes de två MMA-veteranerna Chuck Liddell och Tito Ortiz i en trilogimatch under Oscar De La Hoyas Golden Boy Promotions. Liddell hade vid 48 års ålder inte gått någon match sedan 2010 och det tog inte lång tid tills mötet var över, då Ortiz segrade via knockout redan i första ronden.
Liddell tidigare har knockats i 4 matcher sedan 2007 är nu nästan 50 år gammal. Ortiz menar att han inte hade låtit matchen bli av, om han var manager.

If I was his manager, then no. I would have told Chuck, ‘No, let’s get you an ambassador job. Let’s promote your name and get you to signings and do other means of making money.
That being said, Tito Ortiz feels that the decision was ultimately Liddell’s — nobody else’s.
You can’t hold someone back. If they feel something they want to do and they want to fight and continue to fight, then you’ve go to let them walk out on their own.
Ortiz menar att det trots allt är upp till Liddell om han fortsätter nu, trots att det kanske är en bra idé att lägga av nu. Om han fortsätter hoppas Oritz att en bättre motståndare utses för honom.
If he still wants to fight, then let’s find him an opponent. Let’s find him someone that isn’t a Tito Ortiz.
I don’t want to take anything away from Chuck. If wants to compete, then let him compete. Maybe not as a main event, of course. But let’s find him someone that’s a tune-up for him, because I’m not a tune-up fight.
Liddel har nu ett record på 21-9 och har endast en vinst i sina senaste 7 matcher. Efter nattens seger har Ortiz nu ett record på 20-12 och två raka vinster, med en tidigare mot Chael Sonnen i början på 2017.
