En fjäderviktare har testat positivt för boldenone, en otillåten substans enligt USADAs regelverk och får nu sitta på avbytarbänken i två år.
Det gäller den indiska UFC-fightern Bharat Vijay Kandare som testat positivt för substansen. Han har endast gått en match för organisationen vilket var under ’UFC Fight Night 122 – Bisping vs. Gastelum’. Där ställdes han mot Yadong Song och förlorade genom giljotinstrypning i den första ronden.

Boldenone is a non-Specified Substance in the class of Anabolic Agents and tamoxifen is a Specified Substance in the class of Hormone and Metabolic Modulators. Both substances are prohibited at all times under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, which has adopted the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List.
The goal of the UFC Anti-Doping Program is to deter the use of performance-enhancing drugs and this necessarily means we will identify and hold accountable those who use performance-enhancing substances to gain an advantage in the Octagon. As the Program continues to grow and innovate, we will do our best to continue to protect clean athletes so that athletes can win in the Octagon without cheating and endangering their health and safety and that of their competitors.
Kandare skulle ha gått match i bantamviktsdivisionen mot Wuliji Buren på UFC 227 tidigare i år, men drog sig ur matchen. Kandare har även accepterat sitt straff och kommer därmed sitta vid sidlinjen i två år.
