Fjäderviktsmästaren Jose Aldo var tänkt att möta Conor McGregor vid UFC 189, men blev tvungen att hoppa av matchen i sista stund då han skadade revbenen. Istället fick McGregor möta Chad Mendes i en interimtitelmatch, som Conor tog hem via TKO i andra ronden.
