Johny Hendricks snubblade nyligen på mållinjen då han förlorade ett delat domslut mot welterviktsmästaren Georges St-Pierre, vid UFC 167 i Las Vegas. Efter mötet har det varit en hel del prat om att Georges vill ta en paus från sporten, och Hendricks önskan på ett snabbt returmöte.
Här kan ni läsa vad Johny hade att säga om förlusten, sin vilja att avsluta Georges och hur han inte blev uppfostrad till att klaga, via ”The MMA Hour”:
I’m over it, I’m looking forward to the future. It’s all I can do at this point. To sit and dwell on it, it is what it is. Just move forward and I know I’m going to get him again if he doesn’t retire. Next time, I am going to make sure it doesn’t go to judges. There is a couple of things I am going to take into my hands, literally, and I’m going to do things differently to finish GSP. I had him rocked in the second round and I am going to finish it next time.
Do you think I got great sleep? You’re training for a guy who hasn’t been beaten in six years. I spend time with my kids, I spend time with my wife, I’m not just a fighter. All he has on his plate, realistically, is being a fighter. Everybody goes through life problems, that’s what life is all about. It’s balancing them trying to get better, trying do this or trying to do that. There were nights that I got two hours of sleep, four hours of sleep.
But, like I said, it is what it is, who cares? I don’t know, that’s just the way I look at it. Everybody’s got a hitch, how are you going to overcome that hitch? How do you balance those problems in your life? But hey, everybody is different. I wasn’t raised, I guess it boils down to my raising, is that I wasn’t raised to really complain. You figure out what’s wrong, and you meet it head forward and you conquer it. That’s still the way I live my life the best I can.
Om Hendricks kommer att få en till chans på bältet inom kort återstår att se, men enligt Dana White så är ”Big Rigg” vs. GSP 2 redan i planeringsstadiet.
