Gilbert Melendez ger ledtråd om pension efter förlusten på UFC 239

Förra helgen gick den forne Strikeforce-lättviktsmästaren Gilbert Melendez match på UFC 239, där han ställdes mot Arnold Allen och förlorade via ett domslut.

Nu ser det ut som att Melendez överväger att lägga handskarna på hyllan.

Huge thanks to my team and all my loyal followers . You guys will never know how much your support has meant to me over the years. Things didn’t go my way but when you have the opportunity to chase a great moment or take on a challenge I suggest you face it and go for it. Even in defeat I know this experience will help me grow as a martial artist and as a person. Arnold is a great competitor , is a difficult target to find in the cage and I wish him the best in his fighting future . Med den senaste förlusten mot Allen har Melendez nu 5 raka förluster. Hans senaste vinst var mot Diego Sanchez 2013 under UFC 166, där han segrade via ett domslut.

2012 var senast Melendez hade en vinstsvit, på 7 raka vinster. Han förlorade sedan mot Benson Henderson via ett delat domslut under UFC on FOX 7.
