Tungviktsmästaren Stipe Miocic kommer den 13 maj att ta sig an Junior dos Santos, då de möts under UFC 211 i Dallas. Detta blir andra gången de båda kämparna möts inne i oktogonen, och första matchen slutade i förlust för Miocic via ett enhälligt domslut när de möttes under ”UFC on FOX 13” i december 2014.
Nu är Stipe sugen på att ta revansch på förlusten, och detta hade han att säga via ”MMALatestNews”:
When you lose to someone, you want to get it back, no matter what. You have to. Not in a terrible, mean way like, ‘I want to rip his face off,’ but I want to get that revenge. I want to avenge that loss and get a ‘W’ on that. It’s like, ‘Alright, good. You only beat me once buddy, I got you back,’ you know?
We fought three years ago in 2014. Great fight, he won the fight, nothing I can do about it. I’ve definitely progressed a lot since that fight. Every aspect of the game: confidence, ability, conditioning – I’ve worked so much harder at getting better and sacrificed so much. I’m looking at the people around me because they’ve sacrificed with me. JDS is a great fighter, but unfortunately, it’s going to be ‘And Still’. I’m walking out the champ still.
I’m cordial with everyone, I don’t have any ill will towards anyone. Noone’s ever said anything bad about me, it’d be different if they did. Of course, closer to the fight, we’re not going to be all chummy, but he’s a good guy. He trains hard, former champ, he’s got a good heart just like I do. We’re having a good time now, but several weeks from now, it’ll be a different story.
Micocic kommer att kliva in i oktogonen med fyra raka segrar i ryggen där samtliga tillkommit via TKO/KO, medan dos Santos senast tog sig tillbaka in i vinstkolumnen då han besegrade Ben Rothwell via ett enhälligt domslut under ”UFC: Fight Night 86”.
