Den regerande UFC-mästaren i lättvikt, Khabib Nurmagomedov, tog under förra lördagen en imponerande seger mot den forne mästaren Conor McGregor på UFC 229. Tyvärr överskuggades den fina vinsten en del av det efterföljande bråket som uppstod både inne och utanför buren. Efter att Nurmagomedov lyckats strypa ut McGregor i den fjärde ronden började han bråka med Dillon Danis utanför buren. Samtidigt uppstod det bråk mellan McGregor och några av Nurmagomedovs klubbkamrater inne i buren. Nu har ett klipp kommit ut som visar att McGregor inte var ensam i buren, utan hade hjälp av ett fan.
”Conor kunde ha dött”
David Martin var på plats för att se supermatchen mellan McGregor och Nurmagomedov när han blev ”tvungen” att kliva in och rädda sin idol i tumultet som uppstod efter matchen.

I en intervju med ”For The Win” berättar Martin att han klev in för att fruktade för McGregors liv, därav valet att hoppa in i buren.
In reality, if that guy that hit Conor in the head hit him in a different spot, like right-center of the back of the head and it could have been a fatal blow and Conor could have been dead. It happens all the time at nightclubs, somebody gets punched right in back of head and it’s a fatal blow. Just because you’re Conor McGregor it doesn’t mean that something like that can’t happen to you. I thought Conor could be killed and those guys were going in to kill him and that’s what I could not have happen.
I was talking to [McGregor] and I just held onto him and pushed security away with Kavanagh because he didn’t want them on him too much, he wanted them to back off a bit. I put an arm on Conor and one on the cage and told him to calm down and breathe. My thing was to calm him down – the last thing I wanted was for Conor to go after everyone.
