Efter Conor McGregors submissionförlust mot Khabib Nurmagomedov på UFC 229 har spekulationerna om hans återkomst till buren dominerat rubrikerna.
Efter att till en början lobbat för en omedelbar returmatch mot Nurmagomedov har ”Notorious” ändrat sig och säger sig nu vara redo att vem som än må stå i kö.
Enligt Dana White är ligger dock alla planer om en ny match för den irländska superstjärnan på is fram tills Nevada Athletic Commission kommer med sin mot de som var inblandade i kaoset efter UFC 229.
Så här lät det nyligen i en intervju med TMZSports:
December, Those guys go before the Nevada State Athletic Commission in December and then we’ll know what’s up. We’re not even thinking about [what’s next]. It’s not even worth talking about because we don’t know how long the suspensions are going to be, what their fines are going to be. We don’t know the penalties yet, so you can’t even think about fights until we know what the penalties are.
Men det har inte stoppat ryktena om ett potentiellt möte mellan McGregors och Donald ”Cowboy” Cerrone. Cerrone, som nyligen slog UFC:s rekord för flest vinster och avslut meddelade att han vill återvända till lättviktsdivisionen och att UFC redan erbjudit honom en väldigt intressant match. ”Cowboy” gick sedan ut via Instagram och meddelade att han väntar på McGregor.
Detta är dock något White kraftigt dementerar.
That’s not true. Absolutely not true. Obviously that’s the fight that ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone wants but that’s not true. We haven’t even thought about an opponent for either one of those guys yet, meaning Khabib or Conor.
