Tidigare i maj intervjuades den forne dubbelmästaren Conor McGregor av motivationstalaren Tim Robbins, där han tänkte tillbaka på sitt möte med boxaren Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Han förklarade då hur Mayweathers byte av strategi i mitten av matchen påverkade honom och berättade att han vill ha en returmatch.
McGregor menade även att han skulle vinna.
I would love another go in the boxing arena. Floyd is known for his Philly-shell defensive style of fighting. He has his right arm tucked in, or he’s orthodox so it’s the opposite, but he has one arm tucked in by his belly and one arm kept up by his ear. He uses his shoulder to deflect shots. He’s a back footed fighter, he fights on the back foot.
That’s what I prepared for because that is all I had seen of him. My sparring partners were fighters on the back fight, fighting defensive, back against the ropes and then when I went into the fight in the early rounds, I was whooping him in the early rounds. I actually went back to my corner after the first round and said ‘this is easy’. I literally said that to my corner man, this is easy and then he had to switch up his style.
I believe I would win. Actually, there I go again with the fake humbleness — I know I would win.
Nu har Mayweathers VD Leonard Ellerbe svarat på McGregors uttalande och menar att han alltid är välkommen tillbaka, om han vill ha mer stryk.

That’s interesting. I hadn’t heard that but Conor McGregor knows he’s always welcome to that ass-whooping. I have the utmost respect for Conor, Dana, and those guys. If Conor McGregor wants some of that smoke again, he knows what he’s got to do.
He knows what he’s got to do. All he’s got to do is call Dana. That’s all he has to do. I can’t speak for Floyd but I’ll tell you what, Conor McGregor, if he wants that ass-whooping again, I’m sure Floyd would oblige to that.
McGregor och Mayweather mötte varandra i augusti 2017, då han förlorade via TKO i rond 10.
