Kevin Lees vinst över Michael Chiesa via rear naked choke på UFC Fight Night 122 i Oklahoma City kvarstår och ändras alltså inte till no-contest som Chiesa hoppats på.
Efter att ha diskuterat Chieasas förfrågan om att ha ett formellt förhör för att försöka ändra Lees vinst till en no-contest har Oklahoma State Athletic Commission kommit fram till att det inte finns tillräckligt med bevis för att trotsa domaren Mario Yamasakis beslut att stoppa matchen i första ronden.
I ett uttalande som MMAJunkie tagit del av skriver OSAC administratören Joe Miller att OSAC har gått igenom videomaterialet från matchen noggrant och läst vittnesuppgifterna från båda Chiesa och Yamasaki innan beslutet togs.
Såhär står det i uttalandet:
In the referee’s opinion, just prior to the stoppage, your hands stopped defending the choke, were in mid-air, wobbly and limp, and were moving toward your waist. This is confirmed by watching the tape in super slow motion.
The referee had no way to know that you were actually relaxing, engaging your core and shoulders to shrug or release the pressure and flex your neck muscles. At that point, he was in perfect position and acted to what he was seeing.
Yamasaki själv har i efterhand berättat att han står fast vid sitt beslut och att han såg att Chiesa blev slapp i kroppen av strypningen.

Något som OSAC höll med Chiesa om var att domaren Yamasaki hade missat att se flera otillåtna armbågar från Lee under matchen som Chiesa senare behövde sy. Såhär stod det i uttalandet:
I do concur that two 12-to-6 elbows were thrown. But those strikes did not impact the outcome of the bout and I have addressed this mistake with Mr. Yamasaki.
